Megan Fox recalled the reason why she decided to quit drinking, citing a particular event back in 2009.

In the most recent episode of Who What WearFox revealed that the incident during the 2009 Golden Globes is the major reason why she decided to stop drinking once and for all. The actress reminisced the embarrassing moment that she made in a room full of A-list celebrities.

At the time, Fox was interviewed by E! News where she uttered “a bunch of s***” that she shouldn’t have said. She admitted that she got into a lot of trouble shortly after that interview. Although it happened more than a decade already, the actress seemingly still remembers the moment.

As for how she got drunk during the 2009 Golden Globes, Fox noted that there’s always a giant bottle of Moët champagne on the table and she had several glasses of the drink. She added that she sat at the table with Blake Lively and the Jonas Brothers.

“Now I don't drink, and this is why: I was belligerent and said a bunch of s*** I shouldn’t have said on the red carpet after that,” the actress revealed.

Fox went on to say that she got into a lot of trouble because of whatever she said on the red carpet. Although she cannot remember what she did and said at the time, she’s aware that whatever she’s done had been published on numerous news outlets.

In the 2009 Golden Globes red carpet, Fox was interviewed by E! host Giuliana Rancic. During those times, she commented on her insecurities and joked about her waistline, saying she starved herself for a month. She also said that she’s a doppelgänger for Alan Alda and she wants Selma Hayek’s boobs.

It’s not only that, but Fox also made some comments about her then-fiancé Brian Austin Green. The actress said that he didn’t want to attend the event and he doesn’t want to be her date. Despite her controversial comments, the two got married in 2010.

However, Fox filed a divorce from Green in 2020, just days after she and Machine Gun Kelly attended the American Music Awards together. The actress cited irreconcilable differences as the major reason why they separated.

In a related report, Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are set to star in the crime-mystery movie Midnight in the Switchgrass. It is directed by Randall Emmett, and scheduled to be released on Friday, July 23, 2021, in the United States.
