Song Hye Kyo might be working again on a new project where she’ll reunite with the director of Descendants of the Sun, Lee Eun Bok.

On Thursday, July 22, a report from Newsen noted that Song Hye Kyo accepted the project to star in the upcoming mystery thriller drama directed by Lee Eung Bok. The actress has already worked with the director in the past, where she played the lead role in the hit 2016 TV series, Descendants of the Sun.

No further details have been disclosed on the latest South Korean drama. But, a source from the broadcasting industry told the outlet that “Song Hye Kyo made a verbal agreement to star in director Lee Eung Bok’s new drama.” It added that the mystery thriller will reveal a “new side” of the actress.

In addition to his work in Descendants of the Sun, Lee Eung Bok also directed other hit dramas such as Mr. Sunshine, Goblin, and Sweet Home. At the moment, he’s working on a drama titled Cliffhanger starring Joo Ji Hoon and Jun Ji Hyun.

Song Hye Kyo, on the other hand, is currently filming the upcoming SBS drama, Now, We Are Breaking Up. The series will be the comeback project of the actress since 2018’s Encounter with Park Bo Gum. The new drama tells the love and breakups in the romantic world of the fashion industry.

Now, We Are Breaking Up also stars Jang Ki Yong, Choi Hee Seo, and Kim Joo Heon. It will be directed by Lee Gil Bok, whose works include Dr. Romantic 2. The series has no official release date as of this writing, but it is expected to arrive sometime in the second half of 2021.

Moreover, Song Hye Kyo is set to star in a revenge drama, titled The Glory. The project is written by Kim Eun Sook, whom the actress also worked with in Descendants of the Sun. No further news about the casting list at the moment, though the potential plotline has been unveiled.

Per the synopsis, The Glory follows a high school student who wants to be an architect someday. However, she became a victim of bullying by her fellow students, which has led her to leave the school. She vowed to get revenge on her perpetrators and people who did nothing to help her.

Now an adult, she waited for the leader of her perpetrators to get married ha to have a child. She became the homeroom teacher of the perpetrator’s child. Determined to get back at those who wronged her, her cruel revenge begins.
