Song Jong Ki, Lee Sung Min Set To Star On JTBC’s New Fantasy Drama
Song Joong Ki and Lee Sung Min are confirmed to be working together in the upcoming JTBC fantasy drama, Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son.
On Tuesday, July 20, JTBC announced that Song Joong Ki and Lee Sung Min will star in Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son. Back in May of this year, it was already reported that the actors were offered to be part of the new fantasy drama.
Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son is based on a web novel of the same name. It tells the story of the chaebol family’s secretary who was framed up and died and eventually gets reborn as the youngest son of the family. The project is written by Kim Tae Hee and will be directed by Jung Dae Yoon.
Song Joong Ki is set to play the role of Yoon Hyun Woo. He is the secretary of the chaebol family who died after being framed for embezzlement by the Sunyang Group. After being reborn as the family’s youngest son, Jin Do Joon, he vowed to take over the company as a form of revenge.
Lee Sung Min will play the role of the head of Sunyang Group, Jin Yan Chul. The character has a very competitive spirit and has endless greed for money. He is willing to do whatever he can, at whatever cost, just to get what he wants.
In addition to Song Joong Ki and Lee Sung Min, it was previously revealed that Tiffany and Shin Hyun Been received casting offers, as well. Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son is set to begin production this 2021, leading to a 2022 premiere schedule.
In another report, Song Joong Ki resumed filming his upcoming film Bogotá after completing his self-quarantine. Recently, his agency, HISTORY D&C, announced that the actor isolated himself after being exposed to an acquaintance, who tested positive for COVID-19.
Song Jong Ki’s result came out negative, but he was required to complete a 2-week self-quarantine as a precautionary measure. After 14 days of self-isolation, the actor continued filming Bogotá, a crime thriller movie which is set in 1990s Colombia.
“Actor Song Joong Ki resumed filming the movie ‘Bogotá’ starting on July 13,” a representative of his agency confirmed.
The filming of the movie started back in January 2020 in Colombia. However, the production was halted later on due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cast and crew returned to Korea. Because of the current situation, the film is set to complete its filming in Korea instead of Colombia.
