Tyler Rich opened up about discovering a dead man's body while he was out for a run. The 34-year-old country singer revealed the New Year's Eve incident on social media and described the dead body's details.

The singer posted a number of posts to explain the tragic event in Massachusetts at Chicopee Memorial State Park. He began his post by stating that this is not how he planned to end his 2020. However, he noted that it was the last day of 2020, so it made sense to him.

He admitted that the picture of the moment would never get out of his head. Rich said that his heart goes to the young man, who was found dead in the woods. However, the Chicopee Police Department is yet to share a public statement regarding the incident.

The singer explained the incident and said that he ran almost 2.5 miles before he spotted a young man, who seemed to be homeless and sleeping in the woods. Rich said that it was the last day of 2020, because of which he planned to run for about four miles.

He admitted running in the heavily wooded location in the park and looked for the way to go back. He further accepted that he went far from where people usually go for a run. The singer said that at first glance, he saw the young man on his stomach, face down, and a bag tied on his feet.

Rich further explained that he assumed the person did this to himself so that no one would steal his stuff while he was taking a nap. The I Can Teach Ya star said that he took a couple of rounds of running around him but later felt bad for him being in a bad place.

The singer went ahead and turned the young man to check on him and soon realized that he wasn't breathing. After looking at the man's face, the singer understood that he is "lifeless" and his face was covered in blood.

The singer confessed that he freaked out and ran up the hill to figure out how to connect with the police. Rich said that he was carrying his smartwatch with him and no phone to make a call. He revealed using a couple's phone to make a call, who was almost 30 yards away from him.

Later, he spent hours in giving statements to the local police, FBI, state troopers, and detectives. Rich said that it felt the incident took place sometime back because the blood was fresh and the skin was white.
