Queen Elizabeth reportedly invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a major sleepover in Balmoral as her way of reconnecting with them.

The monarch is seemingly following in Prince Charles' footsteps of inviting the Sussexes to stay with him on the estate while they are in England for a series of engagements.

However, Prince Harry and Markle denied Prince Charles' invitation. And the Duchess of Sussex even said a few shocking words about her father-in-law's relationship with Prince Harry during a recent interview.

"The Queen always has this wonderful, extended stay for her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. There is a big sleepover at Balmoral, they were invited to go to that. They were also invited to go to Birkhall with the Prince of Wales and thus far they haven’t done it," Katie Nicholle said (via Express).

However, there are whispers that Prince Harry and Markle wouldn't also accept the queen's invitation because they are not ready to mend fences with the royal family.

No wonder, Markle continues to throw shade at the royal family with her statements.

A source told Woman’s Day that Prince Charles heard about his daughter-in-law’s interview and he was enraged. The heir allegedly saw it as a threat so he decided to ban Markle from the palace.

“It was meant as a threat and Charles took it that way. When he read that, he knew Meghan was making it clear she was never going to stop this nonsense, and now it’s time to do something,” the source said.

The source also claimed that Prince Charles is currently in discussion with palace lawyers and they are deciding what actions they take against Prince Harry’s wife.

“While Her Majesty prefers to publicly ignore private issues, Charles is different. He wants her to know that she can’t rely on the queen’s traditional silence for much longer, and the royals will fight back,” the source said.

Markle was also accused of throwing shade at Kate Middleton. After all, she said that she wouldn’t be able to send her kids to school or pick them up if they were living in the U.K.

However, Middleton regularly accompanies her children to school. And while it is true that they are hounded by photographers during their outings, she seems to have accepted that this is the reality because they are members of the royal family.

Since Markle once again rocked the boat during her interview, the tabloid said that she can expect to get boos and be heckled by Britons when she sets foot in the UK again. And that’s exactly what happened.

“If they think they’ll be given the red-carpet treatment, they have another thing coming. If Charles has his way, Meghan won’t be coming anywhere near palace property – as it is, there are rumors they’ll be staying in hotels instead of their cottage at Windsor Castle,” the source said.
