Yet another television personality has tested positive for the coronavirus. This time around, the personality is also a health professional. In an Instagram post, celebrity doctor Drew Pinsky revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19.

USA Today reports that the 62-year-old first started showing symptoms of the virus last Saturday. By Tuesday, Pinsky confirmed that he had indeed tested positive for the coronavirus.

In that Tuesday post on Instagram, Pinsky is seen lying down with a drink in hand. The caption assured Pinsky’s followers that his fever had gone down and that the doctor would hopefully get well soon.

That post was soon followed by a video of Pinsky himself telling his followers that COVID-19 is “no fun.” The doctor then revealed that he had wished for a positive coronavirus test as the alternative interpretation of his symptoms would have been acute lymphocytic leukemia.

Before this positive diagnosis, Deadline reports that Pinsky had dismissed the coronavirus, calling the furor over it a “press-induced panic.” This was back during the early days of the global coronavirus pandemic back in March.

By April, Pinsky had apologized for his earlier statements saying that COVID-19 was just another flu. He also said there was a higher likelihood of getting killed by an asteroid than dying from COVID-19. In apology, Pinsky admitted that he “got it wrong.”

As a television personality, Pinsky previously hosted Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew on VH1. Currently, he hosts Fox-11 News Special Report alongside Elex Michaelson.

Pinsky is just the latest television personality to get COVID-19. Love Island alum Rachel Fenton, who is also a health professional, recently tested positive for the coronavirus. Unlike Pinsky, however, this was the second time Fenton tested positive.

The 27-year-old former reality star and now orthopedic clinical nurse first tested positive for COVID-19 back in March. Back then, her symptoms included a loss of her sense of smell, exhaustion, muscle aches, and coldness.

After recovering, Fenton said she had been tested regularly for the coronavirus due to her career as a healthcare professional. She had constantly tested negative until a week ago, leading her to think that she may have the new coronavirus strain going around in the United Kingdom.

Aside from Pinsky and Fenton, other celebrities that have tested positive for the coronavirus include musical theater actor Ben Platt, movie star Hugh Grant, Broadway actor Mark Blum, news anchors Chris Cuomo and George Stephanopoulos, and actors  Rita Wilson, Andy Cohen, Olga Kurylenko, Placido Domingo, Kristofer Hivju, Tom Hanks, and Idris Elba.
