It seems Kelly Clarkson is trying to stay as positive as possible amid her divorce from Brandon Blackstock. The 38-year-old host opened up in a digital segment of her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, about handling tricky situations during the holiday period.

Moreover, Clarkson encouraged her fans and viewers to make gifts at home rather than buying from the market. She explained that it involves a personal touch while allowing her to spend time with her children.

In fact, she noted that making stuff is therapeutic to her, including coloring with her children. She admitted that it might seem odd, but it is absolutely soothing to color with children as they love it. She recalled a time when she looked at adults coloring books and laughed at them but now, she noted being one of them.

She once again emphasized how therapeutic it is while she also acknowledged that this year was difficult. One of the viewers sent her an awkward family situation during the holiday, and Clarkson explained the right thing to do.

The viewer said that she usually spends time with her father's family during Christmas, and they aren't fun. She further disclosed how she used an excuse of quarantine to celebrate with her mother's family but accidentally added her father's sister to the fun group chat.

Clarkson laughed off the situation and noted that the viewer is in trouble. However, she explained that one should avoid lying and just tell the truth. Clarkson further encouraged the viewer to come up with fun ideas to make the family enjoy festivals together.

The singer also recommended adding Underneath the Tree and Under the Mistletoe Christmas songs to the playlists for the upcoming holidays. On a serious note, the Behind These Hazel Eyes star shed light on her thoughts about politics and encouraged everyone to speak about it.

Although she said that most people avoid talking about politics, in fact, she disclosed that people told her to stay quiet when it comes to big issues, politics, or faith. The singer doesn't agree with the thought of staying quiet and rather thinks that people should communicate more often to fix the problem.

"Why would you not want to have conversations about stuff like that? Because maybe, just maybe, what I think about something isn't really right, and I didn't really think about it in that way or vantage point or perspective," she explained.
