Dai and Popp’s next mission is to save Maam and defeat Hyunckel in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 12. The upcoming episode is called The Collaborative Zapple.

In the official promo trailer for Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 12, Dai and Popp look prepared to face the mighty Hyunckel. Moreover, they need to save Maam from the prison she is currently placed in.

“The difference in their strengths was clear. Thanks to Crocodine’s sacrifice, Dai and Popp managed to escape. They begin to form a plan to counter Hyunckel’s overwhelming strength. The battle to rescue Maam from her prison in the Underground Palace begins!” the official promo text read.

The last Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai episode shows Popp, Maam, and Dai fight against Hyunckel, who has an impervious armor that can withstand any attack spell.

He announces that no one in the world can beat him at sword fighting. Maam challenges him, but he tells her that he doesn’t fight women. Maam tells him that he should not underestimate her and reminds him that even women can risk their lives in battle.

She remembers a lesson from Avan about risking life during the battle. She tells Hyunckel that Avan would never grant an Insignia of Avan to someone unworthy. Hyunckel expresses his anger for Avan, and Maam asks why he hates him.

Hyunckel reveals that Avan killed his father. He reveals that the continent of Holkia was Dark Lord Hadlar’s base. The old Dark Army looted towns and was responsible for several deaths.

He informs that he was raised by the Hell Knight Bartos in Hadlar’s Underground Palace. The only reason he was allowed to raise a human child as he was the strongest one in the Dark Army.

The new episode of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai will be live streaming on Crunchyroll. The episode will be out in Japanese with English subtitles.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 12 Release Date and Airtime

Episode 12 of the anime series is releasing Friday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET and 4:30 p.m. PT. Viewers in Japan can watch the episode on Saturday, Dec. 19, 9:30 p.m.
