Jessica Simpson, who had worn many hats, including actress, singer, author, and fashion mogul, had signed a business deal with Amazon Studios. Yes, the 40-year-old singer had signed a multimedia deal with the retail and tech giant, including television projects and a publishing component.

There are two television shows; one of them will be unscripted while another one is scripted. The shows are based on Open Book, Simpson's best-selling memoir. The singer shared her excitement and said that she is honored and humbled to sign a deal with Amazon Studios.

Simpson further said it feels great to get her story to life on-screen. She admitted being a fan of many shows on Amazon while she loves television.

"From our first meeting, I had a visceral connection to every member of this team. I know that parts of my life have been extraordinary, but I also know that many of my struggles are universal," she added. The actress further said that she hopes to entertain and empower others while helping them walk through their fears and become stronger.

In a nutshell, the actress wanted people to experience the same that they did after reading her book. Amazon's Prime Video will premiere the unscripted project. It will be a docuseries featuring a bunch of videos that are never seen and some personal recordings of the singer that she captured over the decades.

It will also give a glimpse of the singer's career and track good and bad times. The series will also feature her journey towards sobriety and starting her own clothing business worth a billion-dollar.

The singer revealed that there are many more moments in her life that will be highlighted during the series on Amazon. Lacy Lynch and Lauren Auslander will serve as executive producers of the series along with Simpson.

The untitled scripted show is bounded for the IMDb TV, which is ad-supported and inspired Simpson's life following her separation from her former husband, Nick Lachey. Amazon promoted the series as Simpson's journey of discovering herself.

The deal between Simpson and Amazon also includes publication on Amazon Original Stories next year, consisting of two essays. One of them will be on gratitude and another one on motherhood. Simpson will narrate the audio versions of the essays.

Amazon Studios' co-head of television, Vernon Sanders, said that the studio is thrilled to have Simpson on board and join the Amazon family.
