House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has come under fire from Progressive groups in their post-mortem on the recently concluded presidential election for showing off her steeply-priced freezers teeming with premium Jeni's ice cream. They describe her action as an unforced error that weakened Democrats’ majority in the House.

A letter wrote on Wednesday to Interested Parties notes that the voters' top concern in the US 2020 elections was the economy. It goes on to point out Pelosi's unforced error of showing off two sub-zero freezers packed with ice cream on national television, adding that cozying up with Wall Street executives and corporate lobbyists while President Donald Trump calls their party the party of the swamp, it is hardly surprising that they lost.

Entitled: What went wrong for Congressional Democrats in 2020, the letter was sent by New Deal Strategies, Justice Democrats, Sunrise Movement, Data for Progress on Nov. 10. It alluded to an interview for The Late Late Show with James Corden when Pelosi showed an expensive sub-zero freezer in her California home's kitchen that was filled with $12-a-pint ice cream.

The interview took place in Apr. when the lockdown had just started, but the progressive groups suggest such show off led to potential voters not voting for them on Nov. 3 because she did not seem in touch with ordinary Americans, DailyMail reported. During the aforesaid exchange, Pelosi showed off her $24,000 Sub-Zero freezers that were packed with $13 ice creams, but much to her chagrin, her interview with Corden came during a time when the coronavirus pandemic was at the peak.

The progressive groups blasted Democratic leadership and even predicted that Republicans would win the House again in 2022. The letter accused the party's leadership of repeatedly failing in terms of making sustained investments in the area of arranging, forcing grassroots organizations to independently carry out the bulk of organizing work in crucial battleground states, New York Post reported.

The memo said the top concern of voters in the 2020 election was the economy, noting that they need a new generation of leadership that's well versed with the experience of the multiracial, working-class, and background. According to Fox News, this memo resulted from the House Democrats not meeting expectations on election night, with some moderate Democrats holding progressives responsible for their tough races.

The Democratic Party is currently destroying itself amid Joe Biden's win, with lawmakers arguing whether the progressive agenda led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is helping or damaging.
