Is Mike Tyson afraid to face his old enemy Evander Holyfield? It seems the former boxing champion has rejected several offers for a face-off against Holyfield.

Tyson is ready to face Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match for the first time in November this year after quitting the ring in 2005. The former champion had, reportedly, mentioned that he has no objection to similar exhibition fights in the future.

However, TMZ insists that the ex-professional boxer has rejected many offers to face Holyfield as he is scared of being beaten. In the past, Holyfield and Tyson fought two unforgettable fights in 1996 and 1997.

While Holyfield defeated Tyson in the first encounter, Tyson was declared disqualified after he had bitten off his adversary’s ear in the second one. However, Holyfield’s alleged dream of winning against his powerful opponent was crushed after sources reported that Tyson was unwilling to participate in a trilogy fight.

Insiders insist that it was not a question of the amount of money involved. They feel that Iron Mike could be “scared.” Many are excited about a fight between Tyson and Hollywood, but their hopes have, reportedly, got squashed.

However, Tyson had had a different version to share when he was queried about whether he was willing to face his old foe once again or not earlier this month. He said he had no qualms about participating in such a match if people wish to see them together in the ring.

Incidentally, Tyson is one of those very few retired boxers who made up his mind to return to the ring. At the same time, he contends that people should not consider him as an older man. So, contrary to what some sources would like to believe, the 54-year-old seems keen to fight against Holyfield.

Meanwhile, even Holyfield has, reportedly, resumed his training. Reports have it that he is all set for a comeback to the ring soon. His interest was obvious when he took to his Instagram page around a week ago.

The 58-year-old shared a picture and asked who would like him to face Mike Tyson for the third time. He also gave his follower s a choice and asked them whether they would like him to play an exhibition match or not, Daily Mail reports.

Holyfield also shared a couple of highlight clips and asked who wanted to watch a rematch because he was ready for a comeback.

In other related news, when Tyson retired in 2005, people thought he had hung up the boxing gloves forever. Many people did not expect he would make a comeback again.

Acknowledged as one of the most savage punchers in the boxing world, Mike Tyson has now come out of his retirement. He is all set for an exhibition face-off against Roy Jones Jr., according to Talksport.
