The Coronavirus pandemic has brought many changes in the world. Most countries are now in recession even the ones that are economically ahead of everyone. As these changes in the financial world happen, the Royal Family of Britain may have to face some heavy cuts to their lavish lifestyle.

Known to the world, the royal family boasts family members that are very famous. Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth has been the reigning sovereign for decades now and she has been brought up with a silver spoon.

According to many sources, The Queen is now looking into the financial ramifications that the pandemic is causing. Royal financier and author David McClure is saying that the Queen is ‘reconsidering’ many aspects of the royal duties.

Mr. McClure continues that short-term and medium-term per se the Royal family has already been affected although not struggling but he claims that long-term wise they will struggle when it comes to their finances.

“In the short term, the coronavirus crisis will directly eat into the money going into the Royal Family. This applies particularly to things like visitor admissions to Buckingham Palace but to also Windsor Castle and some of the other palaces,” McClure stated.

For the medium-term ramifications, McClure pointed out that this will end up draining the Duchy, not just the Queen's but as well as Prince Charle’s Duchy and even the Duchy of Cornwall.

Although this news may come in as something to worry about, McClure assures that the duchies will not be totally drained out, but the family will go through some challenging times.

Long-term wise it is foreseen that the royal family will be in some sort of trouble when it comes to financing the duties of the royal members. This long-term effect will test the Queen’s household on how to reconnect with the people in simpler ways.

With the advent of virtual meetings, such as the ones being held by Prince William and his wife as well as Prince Harry, the royal family might adopt this system. This will be cheaper and safer for the audience as well as for any family member that will play the speaker.

As for travel, this can be tricky according to McClure. The Queen is not only the head of state of Britain but also 15 other countries. Flying to and fro these places will cost the Queen’s household a fortune.

Right now the royal family is still keeping afloat but this might not be so in the long run.
