The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the royal palace in March earlier this year in the pursuit of a not-so-royal, private life. The pair with their son Archie had been living in Los Angeles since they moved out.

According to the reports, the pair had been on the lookout for a new home in the California region. The Sussexes left Tyler Perry’s $18million LA mansion to move into a new house located in Santa Barbara, California in early July.

A spokesperson said that Meghan and Harry carried out the process quietly and secretly, not letting anybody from media track their movement. The pair has been living in the “quiet privacy of their community” and hopes that the move will be respected for them and their neighbors. Page Six reported that the couple finds the place perfect for their son Archie to grow up at, also to lead a happy normal life as normal citizens.

Considering the details, it’s clear that the Sussexes have been on the lookout for what they left the royal palace for – freedom, no media attention, and a good deal of privacy. The pair hopes that Santa Barbara turns out to be that very place they have been looking for all around.

The Duke and Duchess left the LA house just weeks after filing a complaint against photographers and media people who allegedly tried to capture images of the family in the house with the help of long lenses and drones.  Of course, LA is not the most media-free county in the US, so they made their choice and bought a new family house in Santa Barbara, and rightly so.

As yet, the royal couple hasn’t been able to beat the prying eyes of media. They shifted to the US with a hope that they would no longer be on the radar of media, but it actually backfired – the Sussexes are being followed by media more than ever before.  Arguably the most popular royal pair, Meghan and Harry are trying to get on with their new life. Hopefully, Santa Barbara will give them what they desire.

The Sussexes’ move to buy a new house also indicates towards them having no plans to run back to the royal castle. They are all prepared to lead a happy American life and raise their son here.

The Duke and Duchess' new house may also impact the outcome of probation that they were put on by the Queen after stepping down from their royal roles.
