It's been 15 years since Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt announced their separation after five years of marriage, but many are still wondering if they would ever get back together. A close pal of the two had something to say about this.

Fox News reports that Melissa Etheridge, who sang at Brad and Jen's wedding in 2000 that she believes the two will always remain friends because they are people that can get through anything. The 58-year-old singer was a guest on the 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen' when she joked about Pitt's latest ex-wife, award-winning actress Angelina Jolie.

Fans of the singer will remember that she was never a fan of the Jolie. She was not only critical of Jolie's decision to have a double mastectomy but also of Jolie's behavior with Billy Bob Thornton. According to Etheridge, Jolie got together with Thornton during the time that he was engaged to Laura Dern, who happened to be Etheridge's friend. She even had to break into their home so that she could help Dern move out. She also said in 2016 that since Pitt started dating the actress, she had not been able to talk to him, and she still hoped to reconnect with him because it was hard to lose a friend.

The reason that fans are still hoping for another romance between the two had something to do with their sweet reunion earlier this year. According to the Daily Mail, the two were able to reconnect during the Screen Actors Guild Award. The two seemed very sweet while they briefly chatted. A video of Brad being genuinely happy for his ex-wife when she won an award further fueled calls for a reunion.

Whatever happens in the future, the two seem to always have this special bond. Brad was even there during Jen's holiday party, which was attended by other celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who Pitt dated and was briefly engaged to. He also attended Jen's 50th birthday bash last year. Another one of Jen's ex, John Mayer, also attended, proving that Jen can be friendly with her exes.

And speaking of her friendship with Mayer, Jen even went as far as to comment on his recent Instagram Live. An eagle-eyed fan was able to screenshot the actress commenting three laughing-crying emojis while the singer-musician was giving a tribute to the late Bill Withers during his 'Current Mood' show.
