Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon is doing her part to bring a smile to the faces of frontliners during this coronavirus pandemic by having her clothing label, Draper James, give teachers a free dress.

With the coronavirus continuing to wreak havoc across the globe, frontliners like healthcare workers and teachers need every bit of good news that they can get, and Witherspoon is definitely doing her part with this giveaway.

Today reports that the clothing brand made the announcement on Instagram with a post saying that they’ve seen the hard work made by teachers to educate children despite the coronavirus necessitating the closure of a lot of schools. The free dress being given to teachers is intended as a show of gratitude.

The post also included instructions to fill out a form for those interested to get a free dress. The form will be open until Apr. 5 or until supplies run out, with winners announced on Apr. 7.

Quoting a statement, the New York Post says the 44-year-old actress was “encouraged” by how people were stepping up and helping each other out in this time of crisis. She especially pointed out how teachers were adapting to the extraordinary situation by learning new platforms and technologies so children can continue to be educated.

Witherspoon is the latest celebrity to do their part to help out during this COVID-19 crisis.

Angelina Jolie, aside from self-isolating at home with her kids, has also donated $1 million dollars to the nonprofit organization, No Kid Hungry. The group aims to end childhood hunger in the United States and elsewhere in the world. Jolie chose the organization in particular because the school closures brought about by the coronavirus translate to roughly 22 million children in America going hungry since these children depend on schools for their food.

For his part, John Krasinski launched “Some Good News,” a new series on YouTube. With the show, Krasinski wanted to share the news that was uplifting and good in order to counter the gloom brought about by the worsening coronavirus situation around the world.

The situation in the United States does not look like it will get better any time soon. According to data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are now 4,513 people dead from the coronavirus in the United States. Confirmed cases total at 213,144.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization says there are now 45,526 people dead from COVID-19 around the world. The number of confirmed cases worldwide is at 896,450.
