Hoping to bring some light and levity to the gloom brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, former “The Office” star John Krasinski has started a Youtube series titled “Some Good News.”

The New York Post reports that the idea for the new series came to Krasinski last week. On his Twitter account, the 40-year-old actor, writer, and director asked his fans to share some feel-good stories with him, or anything that made them smile during the week.

A week later, Krasinski debuted “Some Good News” on Youtube .“Some Good News” aims to share good and uplifting news as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the globe.

Some of the good news that Krasinski shared, according to Forbes, include the appreciation received by healthcare professionals around the world as they are on the frontlines of the battle against COVID-19. Krasinski also shared a number of heartwarming events that have happened while people are in quarantine, such as the engagement of a Virginia couple despite their canceled Paris trip and a clip of a grandson being introduced to his grandfather for the first time through a window.

But the highlight and the biggest surprise of the broadcast was the appearance of Krasinski’s “The Office” co-star Steve Carell. The two stars shared their memories from working on the show, with Carell mentioning that just seeing Krasinski’s face was great. Krasinski also expressed hope for a “The Office” reunion, even just for the cast to say hi to each other.

Krasinski ended his broadcast on a funny note by revealing that he was wearing colorful bottoms that did not go at all with the suit top that he was wearing.

Of course, Krasinski isn’t the only celebrity social distancing and self-quarantining. Academy Award winner Angeline Jolie is also staying at home with her six kids -- Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.

While Jolie has not made a Youtube series like Krasinski, Jolie has made a financial contribution to help out people that have been negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The actress donated $1 million to No Kid Hungry, which is a nonprofit organization that is focused on ending childhood hunger not just in the United States but around the world as well.

Jolie explained her choice of nonprofit by saying that the school closures would negatively impact disadvantaged children. This is because close to 22 million children in the United States alone depend on school lunches for their nutrition.
