Kelly Clarkson has always been open enough in front of her fans about all the emotional problems she had suffered due to her parents’ divorce which was extremely difficult. Now, she wants to make sure that she doesn't repeat the same mistake with her kids.

Clarkson is in Los Angeles with her kids, Remington Alexander, 4, and River Rose, 6, after quarantining in Montana with her husband Brandon Blackstock. The singer filed for divorce on June 4 amid coronavirus pandemic, is currently occupied dealing with massive changes in her life.

A close source to the 38-year-old star said that she had worked through a lot of trouble from her childhood. The star wrote an emotional song in 2015 about her father's abandonment "Piece by Piece" and the solidity she found in her husband.

Even after parting ways from her 43-year-old husband, source reveals that the star is ensuring that her kids grow up in a loving and stable environment. Since Clarkson and Blackstock started their relationship, Blackstock has been close with his previous marriage's children, Seth, 13 and Savannah, 18.

While the star always remained close to her step-kids and thought as if they are her own, she developed a special bond with them as per the source. In an interview with Glamour UK, The Kelly Clarkson Show host revealed her abandonment problems that she is still facing from her childhood.

She disclosed many things candidly in this interview including the fact that it is difficult to get rid of certain things and then shared an example of people she knew who suffer from certain addiction and that never goes away. Furthermore, such things navigate one’s life around, that existence in your life.

However, another source told PEOPLE that the couple have been like friends for a while but the work pressure as put strain on their marriage life. "Things had changed in their marriage and the split was a while coming," said an insider.

The insider further reveals that the reason this duo wasn't able to enjoy each other's company because they both were working so hard and it becomes impossible especially when there are children who need constant attention.

After 18 years of long career, there is no signs of Clarkson slowing down even a bit. The star has secured her own chat show which is Emmy-nominated, appeared as a coach on number one program of USA, The Voice, and latest single called I Dare You.
