The actor owns WWII Fighter Jet along with few more luxurious aircrafts. In 1986, the 57-year-old star landed in the role of Maverick from Top Gun, which was critically acclaimed. The actor fell in love with aviation while filming for the movie and in 1994 he got his own pilot license.

In an interview, the Mission Impossible star mentioned that he is multi-engine instrument-rated commercial pilot and he is able to fly helicopters and commercial airplanes. In the forthcoming Top Gun's sequel, the actor can be seen flying some aircrafts in the film.

He recently mentioned in an interview with Conan O'Brien that he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream being a pilot and loving aviation. The actor has incredible acting skills that made him world's highest paid actors and been a household name since 1980s.

While Cruise's career doesn't seem to need any help, he loves to perform stunts and it seems having a pilot license to fly both helicopters and airplanes has definitely led the actor to achieve his goals. The actor's pilot license allows him to fly almost anytime he wants to and his experience with G-forces equally helps him to film his own stunts while flying in the movies.

Given that, Top Gun: Maverick is not the first movie in which Cruise got an opportunity to be on the pilot's seat in a movie. In 2017, American Made and in 2018, Mission Impossible: Fallout, the actor performed some death-defying scenes while flying a helicopter.

The Academy Award nominee owns various luxurious aircrafts. Gulfstream IV G4 jet is the latest luxurious aircraft he owns that cost around $20 million and capable of having 19 passengers on board. The jet is equipped with a movie screening room and a Jacuzzi to help him and the guests to relax while flying on 45,000 feet in the air.
