Prince Charles, reportedly, made his real feelings for Kate Middleton known by doing one thing.

In the book, William’s Princess, royal author Robert Jobson detailed how the royal family showed their affection for the Duchess of Cambridge when she joined the clan.

Queen Elizabeth showed her affection for Middleton and Prince William by giving them a romantic bolt-hole on Balmoral estate in the Scottish Highlands.

According to Jobson, Balmoral also holds a special place in Prince Charles’ heart. After all, this is the place where he got to enjoy his freedom with Camilla Parker Bowles.

Jobson said that it's possible that part of Prince Charles' affection for Middleton came from his realization that in her, his eldest son found somebody who he could share Aberdeenshire with.

Prince Charles was pleased with the fact that Prince William found someone who would walk by his side no matter how far it is. And he has someone to curl up with in front of the fireplace at the end of the day.

Jobson called the queen and Prince Charles' gesture of opening Balmoral for Middleton a huge deal.

Even though it was the queen that paid for Prince William and Middleton’s home, she wouldn’t have given the property to the Cambridges without Prince Charles’ consent.

In the book William and Kate: A Royal Love Story, author Christopher Andersen also talked about the importance of Balmoral for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

According to Anderson, Balmoral was so special to the royal family that’s why not everyone is invited to visit. In fact, Middleton was the first girl that Prince William brought to Balmoral because he knew how much the mom of three would love it.

During her trips to Balmoral, Middleton enjoyed several activities with the royal family. And they immediately realized that she is perfectly at home there.

Middleton’s mother-in-law, Princess Diana, was the exact opposite. According to royal insiders, Princess Diana looked like she could hardly wait to leave Balmoral every time she was there.

But when Middleton joined the royal family, the insiders immediately realized that she was a perfect fit. And they also knew that the queen and Prince Charles would love her for it.

Today, Middleton maintains a close relationship with her grandmother-in-law and father-in-law. However, they are unable to see each other due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The members of the royal family are quarantining at different locations. Prince William and Middleton are an Anmer Hall, the queen, and Prince Philip are at Windsor Castle, and Prince Charles and Camilla are at Birkhall.
