Prince Charles Reportedly Named King But Not Of The British Monarchy
Prince Charles has reportedly been named king but not of the British monarchy.
According to New Idea, Prince Charles earned the unofficial title of King of Instagram because of his increased social media presence during the lockdown.
While speaking with The Australian, royal biographer Penny Junor said that the coronavirus pandemic has given Prince Charles the opportunity to connect with people dealing with all types of issues.
Prior to the outbreak, Junor said that a lot of people seemed to not really understand Prince Charles. But during the lockdown, more people have seen him and have listened to him more than they would have if they weren’t self-isolating at home.
Junor also said that the coronavirus pandemic has given Prince Charles a platform to talk to thousands of people. And Prince William and Prince Harry’s dad managed to use this platform to his advantage.
According to New Idea, Prince Charles’ social media presence increased on April 1 after he made his first video appearance. The post garnered over 850,000 likes.
In the past, Prince Charles’ social media posts only garnered an average of 20,000 likes.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles also made headlines this week amid claims that he and Princess Diana cried together after their divorce was finalized.
According to royal biographer Ingrid Seward, the Prince and Princess of Wales sat down together on the sofa and cried on the day of their divorce on Aug. 28, 1996.
Seward said that the couple’s separation can be described as crazy. But when it was finalized, Prince Charles and Princess Diana were already in better terms. As such, they were both saddened by the end of their relationship.
While speaking with Yahoo’s The Royal Box, Princess Diana’s personal trainer Jenni Rivett said that his former client didn’t want to divorce Prince Charles. After all, she loved her husband.
Rivett said that it was Prince Charles that wanted to divorce or separate from Princess Diana. At the end of the day, Princess Diana was still committed to being a loving wife even if she knew that Prince Charles was in love with someone else.
During their marriage, Princess Diana learned that Prince Charles was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. However, she still opted to stay with him.
Years later, Queen Elizabeth urged the Prince and Princess of Wales to finalize their divorce after the latter spoke with Martin Bashir for Panorama. During the interview, the late royal exposed the dirt on Prince Charles and the royal family.
