Sunny Hostin, a co-host on "The View", has humorously pointed the finger at show's lead panelist, Whoopi Goldberg, for what she claims are the mystery gassy noises plaguing the show.

Hostin alleges that recent measures to provide coasters for the show's hosts were implemented not to dampen the sound of moving mugs, but rather to mask the infamous 'fartgate' noises that viewers thought were being created by the hosts, according to Globe.

In a bold move, Hostin asserts that the 67-year-old Oscar-winning comedian, Whoopi Goldberg, is the real culprit behind the unusual noises. She quipped that Goldberg "actually passes the most gas on set." Moreover, Hostin recounts that Goldberg, on occasion, has even claimed responsibility for the sounds, declaring, "Sorry y'all. That was me."

This revelation from Hostin came about when she "just took her [Goldberg] at her word." However, the innocent admission escalated into what Hostin describes as "this big thing."

In a twist, an apparently irked Goldberg later confronted Hostin, asking, "Why did you tell everybody I fart all the time?" Hostin defended her statement by reminding Goldberg of her habit of humorously discussing flatulence on set.

Earlier, as reported by GLOBE, Goldberg and fellow panelist, Joy Behar, attributed the peculiar sounds to the movement of coffee mugs on the table during broadcasts. In an attempt to dispel the growing rumors, Behar clarified to viewers, "Let’s put that rumor to rest — that sound that you hear, that’s a cup." Goldberg further emphasized, "Yes, because, we get blamed for dropping gas, when in fact it’s a cup."

Despite these assertions, the mystery of the 'fartgate' continues. If the addition of coasters fails to quell the unexpected noises, speculation will undoubtedly rise over who, or what, will be blamed next in this comical saga on "The View."
