Country singer and Voice coach Blake Shelton is reportedly struggling with a significant weight gain and has turned to shapewear to conceal his expanding waistline, according to The National ENQUIRER, citing sources. The 46-year-old star has allegedly put on more than 50 pounds in the past year alone since marrying Gwen Stefani, 53.

"Blake's weight is careening toward 300 pounds," divulges an insider. "But rather than diet and work out like a sensible fellow, he tries to hide it by wearing man Spanx."

Despite Shelton's towering 6-foot-5 frame, his growing size is becoming increasingly noticeable. However, the source claims Blake believes that by "sucking it in," no one will pay attention to his excess weight.

"Blake has a whole collection of Spanx, from shorts to bodysuits, and wears them all the time, especially on the red carpet and when he's performing," the source reveals. "They used to feel uncomfortable, but now they're like a second skin that hides the excess weight he's too lazy to work off himself!"

The tabloid previously reported that Shelton's wife, Gwen Stefani, has made numerous attempts to guide her husband towards a healthier lifestyle, but with little success.

Friends are becoming increasingly concerned about the star's wellbeing. "Being so heavy puts a real strain on his system," says the insider. "It's dangerous, but he seems to have zero interest in losing weight. He's eating like a hog. He loves his beer, and he's a total junk food junkie."

Efforts to disguise Shelton's growing figure are proving to be less effective. "It's clear he's huge under those dark jackets, loose-fitting shirts, and baggy jeans," notes the source.

Gwen's friends are worried about her husband's health and have tried to encourage him to exercise and adopt a healthier diet. "But Blake doesn't seem worried — and that's the problem!" concludes the insider.
