Kate Middleton is acknowledging how “tough” it is to raise children today.

Page Six said that the working royal discussed the matter in an exchange with UK radio host Roman Kemp as part of her new “Shaping Us” campaign. They talked about the challenges of parenting and the importance of early childhood following the launch of the new long-term initiative.

In the conversation, the Princess of Wales is said to have noted that “every family is different,” adding that “the pressures we face are all different, while raising the importance of early childhood.”

The future Queen Consort pointed out, though, that “this isn’t about putting extra pressure on families.” She explained that “it’s actually saying they need the support and help reprioritizing family life, home life and all that it takes in raising children today because it is tough,” as per the outlet.

The brief conversation with Roman Kemp comes after Kate Middleton launched the “Shaping Us” campaign earlier this week.

As per the Royal Foundation’s official website, the initiative is a new awareness-raising campaign that aims to “increase public understanding of the crucial importance of the first five years of a child’s life.”

It also notes that the new-long term campaign comes from The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which the Princess of Wales debuted in June 2021.

Upon the launch, Kate Middleton released an official statement, saying in part, “The way we develop, through our experiences, relationship, and surroundings during our early childhood, fundamentally shapes our whole lives.”

It continues, “It affects everything from our ability to form relationships and thrive to work, to our mental and physical well-being as adults and the way we parent our own children.”

Elsewhere in the conversation with Roman Kemp, published Friday, Kate Middleton highlighted the importance of the relationships, the environment they are brought up in, and the emotional support they receive in a child’s life.

Speaking to the television personality, the royal said, “The relationships in a family or that’s surrounding a child is so important. The environment in which you bring up a child is as important, as whereas the experiences you engage them with.”

The Princess of Wales continued that “it’s not about the number of toys they’ve got or the number of sort of trips that you go on with them.” She stated that “it’s just making sure that they’ve got the right emotional support around them and that comes from the adults in their lives.”
