Chrissy Teigen skipped this year’s Grammys to be with her new baby.

On Sunday, the 37-year-old celebrity took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with her 3-weeks-old daughter.

But, aside from giving her fans and followers a glimpse of her day, she also revealed why she was not present at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles that night.

In the caption, Teigen shared that she “had a dress fitting” for the event. However, she said she “looked around and realized ….what the hell am I trying to prove here,” before adding, “I cannot get up lol.”

The “Cravings” author just had her new baby with John Legend a few weeks ago.

People reported at the time that the 43-year-old artist confirmed the matter at a private concert hours after the arrival of their child.

Legend is said to have shared with a crowd at the venue that he and Chrissy Teigen welcomed “the little baby this morning,” before saying, “What a blessed day.”

He also stated that despite not getting “a lot of sleep,” he “feels energized” after spending “a lot of time” at the hospital, as per the magazine.

Earlier this month, the “All Of Me” singer spoke to E! News and talked about the name he and Chrissy Teigen gave their new baby.

John Legend shared that the name, Esti, “wasn’t intentionally after someone.” But, he noted that “once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, ‘Oh, my great-grandmother’s name was Esther.’”

The artist continued that they “wanted to already name her middle name Maxine after my grandmother, whose middle name was Maxine," before saying, “So, it’s a lot of my family in the name.”

Meanwhile, Chrissy Teigen may have skipped this year’s Grammys, but her husband was present at the event, with Page Six reporting that he performed “God Did” at the awards show.

The outlet also noted that John Legend was up for three awards this year in the Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song categories.

During the awards show, the cookbook author is said to have shown her love and support for her husband while at home with their children.

On Instagram, Teigen shared a throwback photo from last year’s awards show, featuring herself and her husband as they posed on the red carpet. She wrote in text that she is “cheering on” Legend for his nominations and performance, as per the outlet.
