Prince Harry spoke to the winners of the 2022 WellChild Awards in a video call. Following the virtual engagement, a body language expert shared some thoughts about the royal-born Prince from the exchange, noting that he expressed his emotions very naturally.

Speaking to Express UK, Judi James first stated that it is “hard to watch” the Duke of Sussex “and not regret the fact that he is no longer a member of the royal Firm.” She explained that this is because “he engages so well and shows empathy with the people he is talking to” during the engagement.

The expert continued that what made it further challenging to watch was the way the former working royal exposed his own emotions. She told the outlet that, based on her analyses and observations, he showed them “in a very natural way.”

James also shared with the publication that Prince Harry “becomes visibly emotional” during the conversations with the winners of this year’s WellChild Awards and their parents. She noted, though, that this is only “natural,” considering the “bravery of the children.”

She consequently asserted that the royal-born Prince was “thinking of his own children” when he spoke to the guests, adding that it must have made him “even more moved.”

The body language expert pointed out, as well, the Duke of Sussex was “often-effacing, offering a sweet, double-handed wave of greeting” at some points of the virtual engagement. She even claimed that the exchange was “comfortable” based on how the parents’ responded to Prince Harry.

Express UK quoted James, saying, “There is very little in the parent’s responses to suggest they are anything but comfortable talking to Harry, rather than sounding overawed or uncomfortable.”

It continues, “If anything they seem to be slightly more confident than Harry and almost keen to put him at ease, which is again a testament to his ability to avoid any of the distancing or sense of status that can come with being royal.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle flew to Europe to visit charities earlier in September.

People, in its report covering the virtual engagement, noted that The WellChild Awards are a highlight on their schedule, appearing to be their last stop for the trip.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not able to be at the event following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. He had to fly to Balmoral in Scotland while she stayed behind in London, following their engagement in Germany.

Nevertheless, the WellChild Awards continued as planned on the same day, as per the magazine.
