Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released new portraits of themselves days after King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton published theirs. A royal expert deemed the move “deliberate,” noting that it was a “reminder” for the public.

Express UK reported that Katie Nicholl made the claims during a recent exchange. She is also said to have explained how she arrived at such notions during the conversation.

The royal author reportedly told the Daily Beast that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex releasing their photos “was very deliberate.” It is also shared that, for her, the move “was a reminder that there is an alternative royal court” in the United States, “and it’s one that is not going to be silenced or quietened.”

The publication consequently quoted Nicholl, adding, “It was clearly published in response to the picture coming out of the Palace of the ‘new’ Fab Four - Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate - and this is a reminder that there are two other members of the family that still want a place in the spotlight.”

Express UK later shared in the same report that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two new portraits were taken from their attendance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester earlier in September. It also noted that a friend of the couple, Misan Harriman, was the one who took the photos.

The first picture, which the outlet included in its piece published Monday, shows the Duchess of Sussex in a red trouser suit. She is with the Duke of Sussex, who stands behind her left side.

The other photo, which is a black and white shot, features the former working royals on their sides as they hold hands.

Earlier last week, Katie Nicholl made the same statements to Entertainment Tonight. It came as she discussed the photos in question, along with their significance amid the reported rifts between Prince Harry and the rest of the British Royal Family.

Speaking to ET, the royal author asserted that it was “all in the timing,” adding that “it does sort of have a sense of ‘anything you can do - we can do too.’”

Nicholl also told the outlet that the move was “quite polarizing” because two days earlier, the official portrait of the new King and Queen Consort, alongside the new Prince and Princess of Wales, surfaced.

The expert later added in the exchange that “it was a pretty bold move” on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's part, although she admitted that “it didn’t surprise” her.
