Valerie Bertinelli is allegedly struggling to cope with her divorce from Tom Vitale but not because she still loves him. Instead, the Hot in Cleveland star is having a hard time urging Vitale to stop pestering her with his outrageous financial demands.

An unnamed source told Star that Bertinelli and Vitale signed a prenuptial agreement before they tied the knot. And the document states that neither of them can seek spousal support if they end up getting a divorce.

But Vitale has been challenging the validity of the prenuptial agreement because he wants his ex-wife to support his everyday needs.

“He needs help covering his monthly expenses, which include $20,000 for rent, $1,730 for groceries, $2,000 for eating out, $2,500 for vacation, $625 for clothes, $600 for housekeeping, $5,000 for his savings, and more,” the source said.

The source also said that Vitale is struggling financially. After his license as an investor expired, he has only been working at the post office with a salary of $16 per hour.

Bertinelli, on the other hand, makes $180,000 monthly from her projects.

“Tom’s giving the impression that he’s broke and all he could get was a minimum-wage job and needs Valerie’s support. But no one from her side is buying it. This has been very stressful for Valerie, but anyone who knows her will tell you she will fight for what’s right. No one thinks Tom deserves a penny of her money,” the source said.

This isn’t the first time that Bertinelli and Vitale are rumored to be feuding over the latter’s spousal support. And while it is true that the couple has not reached a settlement, no one knows for sure the details of their divorce.

As such, it is best to take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. And to remember that most of their claims were just made up.

For instance, it’s unlikely for Vitale to directly say that the spousal support that he’s seeking will be used to fund his meals when he’s out with family and friends. And it’s unlikely for him to also say that part of the money that he wants to get from his ex-wife will be used for his travels.

All these claims were obviously made up by the tabloid to exaggerate the tensions between the exes.
