Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt experienced hunger while working on “The Devil Wears Prada.” The two actresses had to lose weight for their roles, sending them to tears because they were “so hungry.”

Cheat Sheet unearthed the revelations the “Les Miserables” actress made years after the success of “The Devil Wears Prada.” She recalled the experiences she had in terms of her weight while working on the film.

Hathaway revealed that she and Blunt “would clutch at each other and cry” because of their hunger. She also shared she was “stuck with fruit, vegetables, and fish” at the time, adding that she would not recommend the regimen to anyone.

The journey to weight loss itself was already challenging. But, what made it a “nightmare” for the then-24-year-old actress was that she was initially told to gain ten pounds for the movie.

Speaking to People, Anne Hathaway revealed that the director and producers asked her to gain weight for the role. As stated, she “happily chowed” beer, ice cream, and pizza to achieve the goal.

After doing so, however, the “Princess Diaries” star could not fit into the couture. She was then asked to lose weight, with her saying, “It was a nightmare” as it took her “about a month to gain and two months to lose it.”

This was not the first time Anne Hathaway was told to lose weight in the acting space. She previously opened up in a cover story for Allure about her experiences involving weight and film projects over the years.

The 39-year-old celebrity shared that she was asked to stay skinny for a role when she was 16. But, she believed that it meant the same as needing to lose weight.

The "Hustle" actress did not go into the details of the engagement, but she went on to detail the opposite request she received for her then-upcoming project, “The Last Thing He Wanted.” She told the magazine how the director asked her to gain 20 pounds for her role, with the magazine saying she “happily agreed to” do.

Meanwhile, unlike Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt previously revealed that she only lost weight for a film project once, noting that it was for “The Devil Wears Prada.”

The “Edge of Tomorrow” star told Parade that she did so as her character “was supposed to be on the edge of anorexia.” She also stated that she is from a “family of thin children, so [she has] always been OK with that” aspect.

However, the 39-year-old celebrity believes that the “pressure” to lose weight on young girls today “needs to diminish.”
