Jennifer Lopez recalled how her journey to wellness began a few decades ago. She said it all came after the panic attacks she experienced due to exhaustion from her personal and career commitments.

In the latest edition of her On The JLo newsletter, the 52-year-old songstress shared the details of how it all started. She also pointed out what she now prioritizes in terms of her holistic health.

Lopez stated that she let her own “self-care needs go completely” in her late 20s. People noted that it was when she prioritized work both in the music and acting spaces, alongside her first marriage.

The magazine quoted her, saying, “I realized how serious the consequences could be of ignoring what my body and mind needed to be healthy.” She added, “that’s where my journey to wellness began.”

Jennifer Lopez explained in her newsletter that she used to sleep three to five hours a night during those years. She also told her readers that she thought she was “invincible” in her late 20s.

The “Marry Me” actress consequently shared that it all “caught up” with her one day while sitting in a trailer. She revealed she was “completely frozen,” and “couldn’t see,” adding that the physical symptoms “started to scare [her] and the fear compounded itself.”

The songstress later said she now knows it was a “classic panic attack brought on by exhaustion,” although she had never heard of the term at the time.

Following the experience, as well as a visit to the doctor shortly after the incident, Jennifer Lopez asserted that she has since lived a “very healthy and balanced life.” She also told subscribers that her wellness philosophy has become “pro-living versus anti-aging.”

Over the years, the “On The Floor” singer has repeatedly emphasized the importance of sleep in her life. She even once revealed that she does not utilize any sleeping “aid” to fall asleep, according to Cheat Sheet.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Jennifer Lopez stated that she is out for the night once she goes to bed. She shared she does not take melatonin, read a book, or use a meditation app.

Elsewhere in the engagement, the “Selena” actress also pointed out that “sleep is the most important thing” for her, adding that it is the only thing she does not let get interrupted. She later said her sleep usually lasts for more than eight to ten hours per day.
