Milani Cosmetics weighed in on the ongoing defamation trial, involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The company set the record straight after the actress’s attorney made a claim about her using one of the brand’s products to hide bruises during her relationship with her former husband.

NBC News reported that Milani Cosmetics recently posted a video on TikTok that appeared to contradict the said claims. The clip, which has since amassed more than 5 million views, clarifies that the product in question, Conceal + Perfect All-in-One Correcting Kit, did not launch until December 2017, more than a year after Amber Heard and Johnny Depp ended their marriage.

A spokesperson for Milani Cosmetics shared in a statement that the company “can confirm” the palette’s official launch date. As added, the “video was to verify the claim that our eagle-eyed and loyal fanbase made about the product named in the trial.”

In the end, however, the company noted that it is “not taking a formal stance on the trial, evidence or future outcome of the case.”

These all come after Amber Heard’s attorneys shared in their opening statements that the actress used the product in question to cover her bruises, which were said to be caused by domestic violence.

Attorney J. Ben Rottenborn reportedly said, “this was what she used,” adding that the “Aquaman” actress “became very adept at it.” Attorney Elaine Bredehoft, later on, held up the makeup kit in court, although they did not name the brand or the kit. It featured the brand's name, though, on the cover of the product.

Bredehoft consequently claimed, “this is what Amber [Heard] carried in her purse for the entire relationship with Johnny Depp.”

Following the viral clip from Milani Cosmetics, reports shared that a source familiar with the situation opened up about the whole debacle. As explained by the unnamed individual, who is said to be close to Amber Heard, the actress’s attorneys were only using the kit from the cosmetic company as “an example of the kind of makeup that she used.”

The 36-year-old actress tied the knot with Johnny Depp in 2015. They called it quits about a year later.

To date, the “Fantastic Beasts” alum is suing his former wife for defamation. This came after Heard wrote an op-ed article for The Washington Post, wherein she stated that she was “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Depp claimed that the “Paranoia” actress abused him, adding that he did not harm her during their relationship.
