Amber Heard is gearing up for her and Johnny Depp’s defamation trial on Monday. She shared some of her thoughts about the matter on social media, including her “love” for her former husband, on Saturday.

New York Post said that the “Aquaman” actress opened up about how she has “always maintained a love for Johnny” despite the controversies surrounding their relationship. She, also, revealed her hopes of moving on upon the conclusion of the case, adding that she has the same wish for the “Fantastic Beasts” alum.

Heard continued that living out the details of their “past life together in front of the world” brings her “great pain.” Nevertheless, she acknowledged the “ongoing support” that she has been receiving and deemed herself “fortunate” for that.

Elsewhere in the post, the 35-year-old celebrity told her followers that she would go “offline for the next several weeks.” She stated that she would be in Virginia to face her ex-husband in court after suing her for defamation.

The publication said that the trial will be in Fairfax, Virginia, where a jury will decide if Amber Heard, indeed, defamed Johnny Depp. The suit centers on the 2018 Washington Post op-ed that the actress wrote, wherein she implied he was a domestic abuser.

The headline of the piece read, “I spoke up against sexual violence - and faced out culture’s wrath. That has to change.” Depp claims this hurt his reputation and cost him his career.

People released some of the details about the upcoming defamation trial. As noted, it is a different one from the highly publicized U.K. libel lawsuit case, which took place in 2020.

Johnny Depp filed the suit against the British tabloid, The Sun, for calling him a “wife-beater.” But, the actor lost the case as the court upheld the publication’s claims as being “substantially true.”

In the defamation trial that will begin on Monday in Virginia, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star is directly suing Amber Heard. He filed the case in March 2019, three years after they settled their divorce out of court.

The former couple first met on the set of “The Rum Diary” in 2009, according to Insider. Although, it was not until “at the end of 2011 or the start of 2012” that they began their relationship.

In 2014, engagement speculations emerged after Amber Heard was seen wearing an “ornate” engagement ring. Johnny Depp seemingly confirmed the reports during an interview at the time.

A year later, the then-pair tied a knot in a private ceremony. But, it did not last very long as the “Mortdecai” actress filed for divorce three months after the first wedding anniversary.
