Queen Elizabeth is allegedly exhausted and it could only be a matter of time before she decides to step down from her royal duties.

In its March 28 issue, Woman UK claimed that the royal family couldn’t help but worry about the queen. After all, she recently suffered back-to-back health scares.

And even though she is fully recovered from all her recent health issues, there’s also no denying the fact that the queen is already in her mid-90s. So, it must not be easy for her to attend royal engagements.

In fact, she was supposed to attend the Commonwealth Day service but decided to cancel at the last minute. And royal experts believe that this will keep happening in the coming weeks and months.

In his column for Woman UK, royal biographer Duncan Larcombe said that it would only make sense for the queen to consider stepping down after her Platinum Jubilee.

“By bowing out gracefully after the Jubilee, she would have the nation’s blessing. Has there been anyone in history who deserved to put their feet up as much as the queen? She could oversee her son’s accession to the throne, ensuring a smooth transition. Surely, this would be better than waiting until ill health or frailty force the issue,” the source said.

But Larcombe also stressed the fact that the decision to step down or when to abdicate is entirely up to Her Majesty.

“The reality is that only the queen will decide when is the right time to go. And she shows little, if any, signs of wanting to slow down. But this famously pragmatic royal will be all too aware that the twilight of her incredible reign is on the horizon,” the source said.

Talks about the queen possibly abdicating due to her health and old age have been rife for months. Multiple publications and sources have been insisting that it’s only a matter of time before Her Majesty make an official announcement.

However, what all these people are forgetting is the fact that the queen previously vowed to serve The Crown up until her dying day. So, it’s unlikely for the queen to abdicate.

What could happen and what is already happening is that she’s entrusting more of her royal duties to her son, Prince Charles, as well as to her grandson, Prince William.
