Kate Middleton is, reportedly, flying off to California to convince Prince Harry to return to the U.K. before he further damages the royal family with Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Cambridge has apparently been secretly tapped by Queen Elizabeth herself to help with the Sussex pair. According to New Idea, Kate has been preparing to travel to the U.S. in the coming days just as Harry and Meghan's potentially explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey is scheduled to air on March 7.

The news outlet further showed "proof" that Kate had been secretly meeting with the Queen, who is still in isolation at Windsor Castle. However, Gossip Cop immediately debunked the story since the photo used in the article was taken in 2013 during the royal family Christmas event.

Gossip Cop also said that a trip to California is out of the question due to the pandemic. Kate has been following the lockdown protocols in the United Kingdom. She hasn't been seen in public engagements in recent weeks. Instead, the Duchess of Cambridge has been working online and has appeared in video conferences to talk to charities.

Kate has also been isolating in Anmer Hall in Norfolk with her children since the holidays. But her two oldest children will starting in-person classes in a matter of days. This means that the Cambridges will be even busier in the coming weeks so a risky trip abroad won't fit with their immediate plans.

But the news of Kate's alleged trip comes as insiders said that her husband, Prince William, has a growing concern over Harry and Meghan's first major interview. According to reports, William had no inkling that his brother and sister-in-law would talk with Winfrey and was more worried after Meghan told the talk show host that there were no off limits to topics she could ask.

The insider added that William and Harry haven't talked for a while because things between them are still not mended. The dukes have been involved in a rift since right after Harry and Meghan got married.

The source also said that no one from the royal family will watch Harry and Meghan's interview. In the U.K., the show's broadcast has been set for March 8 on ITV.

Prior to the interview, Kate and William will join Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family for a special service for Commonwealth Day, which will air on U.K. television on March 7. The said event will be mostly taking place online as a safety protocol. Harry and Meghan are not going to be participating since they are no longer working royals. (Business Times)
