It came as a shock to the public when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plans to depart with the British Royal Family. Although this was something that the Palace later announced that they fully supported, the rumors that the family was blindsided still lives on.

Now, the royal duo has found success on the other side of the pond. With a new deal for an exclusive podcast series with Spotify, Harry and Meghan continue to wow the masses.

But it does raise the question of whether the pair’s goal of leaving the Royal Firm was all a ruse to use their royal status for money gains.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Meghan Markle invested in a private company in the US. The ex-actress shared that she has now invested in ‘Clevr Brands’, a U.S. based start-up company making instant oat milk lattes.

Royal correspondent Richard Palmer believes that this move by Meghan Markle clearly points out that she and Prince Harry left the British Monarchy to gain more money.

“A reminder that Harry and Meghan’s desire to make money from their royal status was the root cause of their departure from the Royal Foundation and ultimately the Firm,” Palmer tweeted following the news of Markle’s newest investment.

He added that the row with the staff, family, and the media the couple experiences is valid but making money was a big part of their exit.

The royal pair cited their reason for leaving the firm was to become ‘financially independent.’ During the earlier months from their exit, the pair was suggested to have been supported financially by Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles.

Their Netflix deal, which was announced last August, gave them the financial freedom they wanted. Although Prince Harry and Meghan did not disclose the amount they got, it was rumored to be $150 million.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also signed under Henry Walker, a talent agency for heavyweight speakers. Leaked documents allegedly showing the agreement between Walker and the royal pair listed their fee for every speaking engagement at $1 million each.

The Royal Family has stayed mum on Prince Harry and Meghan's issues since their arrival in the U.S. This has led many to speculate the relationship between the pair and the firm being ‘sour.’

Despite all the hate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gotten, they continue to enjoy their new life in California.
