Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Spotify has become one of the hot topics in the past few days. The pair is clearly planning to put their brand on the biggest platforms available around today with this newest move.

Their announcement of striking a multi-year contract with Spotify for an all-exclusive podcast series under ‘Archewell Audios’ is not a surprise. In the past months since the big reveal of their Netflix deal, there have been rumors brewing of a podcast deal as well.

Despite the negative backlash the duo has gotten since Spotify’s announcement, royal commentators and host of podcast Royally Obsessed Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie believe that the podcast could be a ‘healthier’ platform for Harry and Meghan.

Fiorito spoke of Meghan’s confession during World Mental Health Day back in October regarding her being the ‘Most Trolled Person of 2019’, saying that the Duchess’s decision to leave social media is due to the hate she has gotten.

"I’m happy if podcasts are how we hear from them, versus Instagram, for a while because for them, there are no trolls on this platform. I think that is much healthier for them,” Fiorito commented.

Co-host Bowie added that Meghan and Harry had taken a firm stance against a lot of platforms this year, pointing out the couple talked about working towards bettering the online community.

She then continued on by agreeing with Fiorito that podcasts are a better way to send a message without having to come across trolls and online hate.

Many social media platforms that are popular today have comment sections that can be regulated or limited, but this does not totally eradicate people from leaving distasteful words under a post.

The royal pair have also revealed their feelings towards social media, expressing that they do not see themselves returning any time soon on platforms such as Instagram and Twitter.

During their time as working royals, Harry and Meghan shared ‘SussexRoyal’ on both Instagram and Twitter, but Markle confessed that they were not in total control of what was posted as it was a team effort.’

Not many share the same sentiments as Fiorito and Bowie regarding the deal struck between the Sussex’s and Spotify, it did increase the pair’s unpopularity in Britain revealed in a recent poll, and it has been a hot topic amongst the many Twitter trolls of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Harry and Meghan released a statement this Tuesday regarding their deal with Spotify.
