Rachael Leigh Cook is officially on board to work in the gender-swapped movie, He's All That. Interestingly, the 41-year-old actress won't be seen reprising her Laney Boggs' character from an original teen movie released in 1999, She's All That.

The social media handle of the film posted the announcement of Cook joining the cast, including Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan. The Instagram handle also posted a picture of Rae and Cook sitting on the set while looking at the camera with a wide smile.

The 20-year-old TikTok fame portrayed the character of Padgett, who is an influencer that gets bullied on the internet. The character gets challenged to turn a nerdy boy named Cameron Kweller, portrayed by Buchanan, into the school's most popular guy.

The upcoming teenage movie will flip the original script that had Freddie Prinze Jr., and Cook portrayed the lead in the rom-com. In the new version of the film, Cook will play a caring and wise mother to Padgett. While the original movie had a modern vision of George Bernard Shaw, Zack Siler accepted the challenge from his friends to make an artistic nerd a prom queen.

The original movie was penned by R. Lee Fleming Jr., who is also responsible for recreating the new version of the film. The new movie is helmed by Mark Waters, who has previously worked on Mean Girls. Besides the lead characters, Kourtney Kardashian, Vanessa Dubasso, Peyton Meyer, and Madison Pettis will mark their debut with the new version.

Cook also worked in movies such as Josie and the Pussycats and Get Carter. She also portrayed recurring characters on Criminal Minds, Psych, and Robot Chicken. Recently, she was seen with Damon Wayans Jr. in Love, Guaranteed streaming on Netflix.

The actress issued a press release by Miramax that shared her excitement of working with familiar faces. She further mentioned being thrilled about working on the new version as she believes it has a great twist that the audience will enjoy.

A couple of months back, the actress revealed that the role she portrayed in She's All That had created a great impact on her personal life. She could relate with the character as she was an independent, bold, and strong female who lived her life on her own terms. In fact, being a mother to a baby girl made her understand the importance of such characters on screen.
