Nicole Kidman is busy with the filming of her new drama series Nine Perfect Strangers in Byron Bay, Australia. However, it seems that locals are not happy with the way shooting has disrupted their day-to-day lives.

The Eyes Wide Shut actress had told The Daily Telegraph how excited she was for bringing a production worth a whopping $100 million to Australia. She was also happy to create hundreds of jobs for people in the local movie industry.

Incidentally, the country's film industry went through a terrible time after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. However, many locals of Byron Bay did not seem to share her sentiments.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the completion of her upcoming Hulu TV series, there has been a mixed reaction in Byron bay, where shooting is underway. Some local residents are of the opinion that production for the series is causing heavy traffic disruption in this tiny coastal town.

They do not like the way celebs have taken over their town and are affecting their lives. There have been heavy traffic congestions on the roads of the town ever since the shooting started.

Several locals expressed their displeasure while commenting on Deux Moi, a popular gossip account on Instagram. A user pointed out that the alternate way to Byron Bay is being shut off due to the filming of Kidman’s new series. The main road is already bad because of the road works, according to the same user.

According to Daily Mail, another user remarked that while Byron bay has always been a beautiful town, it has become the new hotspot for celebrities after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic

Ever since shooting for the drama series started at the beginning of this year, the 53-year-old actress has been living here quite life frequently with her family.

Kidman also happens to be a co-producer of the show along with David E. Kelley and Bruna Papandrea, with whom she had collaborated in the past for Big Little Lies. Her co-stars in the series include Bobby Cannavale, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, and Samara Weaving, among others.

Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman’s co-star Melissa McCarthy came up with a bizarre way to shower her with compliments. While McCarthy met Kidman before, she did not work with her in the past.

The Heat star revealed that she feels there is something regal about the Big Little Lies actress. People would have the first impression of Kidman as an extremely formal person, according to the actress. However, as one gets to know her closer, they will realize that she is “weird,” according to McCarthy.

Nicole Kidman’s Nine Perfect Strangers is a new drama mini-series, which is based on a novel by Liane Moriarty with the same name. John Henry Butterworth and David E. Kelley are the creators of the show. It is expected to be aired in 2021.
