Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle allegedly spoke on the phone last year while the latter was pregnant with Archie.

New Idea published a dubious story exactly a year ago saying that Middleton reached out to Markle after hearing her ITV interview.

Following her and Prince Harry’s trip to Australia, Markle admitted that not many people have asked if she’s OK.

Shortly after, a source claimed that Middleton called Markle to tell her to hang in there.

The Duchess of Cambridge also allegedly encouraged Markle to not listen to the media's criticisms and promised her that things would get better one day.

According to the insider, Middleton also told Markle her experiences dealing with the media years ago when she and Prince William started dating.

She was called "Waity Katie" because the tabloids thought that Prince William was stringing her along.

The Duchess of Cambridge also allegedly consoled Markle about her pregnancy because she knows how difficult it is to carry a child.

But one year has passed, and there’s still no proof that Middleton called Markle that time.

In fact, the book Finding Freedom revealed that there were only very few occasions when Middleton and Markle spoke to each other.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand said that the sisters-in-law were never at odds with each other. They’re just not that close.

So, if Middleton and Markle didn’t bond much when the latter was still a member of the royal family, it’s unlikely that the former phoned the latter to console her.

In fact, it is also unclear whether or not Prince William and Middleton reached out to the Sussexes after learning that Markle suffered a miscarriage in July.

News.co.au slammed the royal family for not showing Markle any sympathy after she revealed that she had a miscarriage. After all, it was business as usual for all of them.

According to the Daily Beast, the royal family won’t release a comment on the matter. But Prince Harry briefed them before the op-ed piece was published by the New York Post.

The publication said that the queen’s office acknowledges that it’s a deeply personal issue.

Prince Charles and Prince William’s respective offices also released a similar statement saying they won’t comment on the matter.

Some critics are convinced that the royal family’s decision not to comment on Markle’s miscarriage is their way of distancing themselves from the Sussexes. After all, they are no longer senior working royals.
