The shocking news of Meghan Markle’s miscarriage back in July has surfaced just today after the Duchess of Sussex shared her story in an article for the New York Times.

The outpouring of sympathy and support towards the Duchess’s experience has been massive. This is the first time the royal pair revealed this sad news after many speculations that they are expecting a new child.

In pieces called ‘The Loses, We Share,’ the Duchess writes the heartbreak her husband, Prince Harry, went through as he tried to hold on to the ‘shattered pieces’ of Meghan, all the while mourning their unborn child.

“After changing his [Archie's] diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right,” writes Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry, Uncle and close confidante of the couple Charles Spencer, has since spoken about Meghan and Harry’s loss.

The Earl of Spencer appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV1 talk to discuss the sad news. The brother of the late Princess Diana, Harry’s mother, expressed his sadness and grief upon hearing the news.

He tells Lorraine that he has sent his regards and well wishes to the couple as they go through this amicable loss.

Furthermore, royal family member Zara Tindall, allegedly, spoke to the couple in private on the horrible news. The daughter of Princess Anne, Princess Royal, went through the same experience as Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry’s older cousin had two miscarriages following the birth of her daughter Mia, 6. The royal has candidly spoken about her own experience, explaining that it was a very hard time for her and her husband.

She continued on to share that the royal family was the biggest support system during those times and that she could not have moved on if it wasn’t for the outpouring of love.

Meghan Markle’s miscarriage has been known to the family as well. The Mail reports that Buckingham Palace has known the unfortunate news for several months now.

The article the Duchess wrote has also been approved by Royal Courtiers, with senior royals briefed about the Sussex’s plans to published their story.

The New York Times reveals that the main point of the Duchess’s article is to shed light on miscarriages, and to break the ‘taboo’ of talking about this event, and to put a halt on ‘solitary mourning.’
