The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be celebrating their first Thanksgiving celebrations as a family in Los Angeles for the first time.

Speculations of the Harry and Meghan planning a big celebration with extended family and friends as their guests is now negated. Plans of an all-out Thanksgiving has now been scaled down amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

A source told InStyle that Meghan wanted a big and traditional dinner with her husband, Archie, mother, and many other people in their brand new Chateau in Montecito.

“Meghan wanted to have a big, traditional dinner in Montecito and to invite a bunch of her closest friends, but health is more important. With COVID-19 cases soaring, she refuses to take any risks,” the source shares.

The Duchess opted to celebrate an intimate dinner instead, with only their small little bubble attending.

Harry and Meghan are also revealed to mark the special occasion by giving back to their favorite charities. The Duchess invited her mother, Doria Ragland, to join them in their thanksgiving project.

The royal pair have been living their post-megxit life as private citizens after a rocky stint as working royals. They are now based in America and has been so in the past 7 months.

Apparently, the two are very well aware of how lucky and blessed they are. With good health from all of them and a brand new home in Santa Barbara, the couple’s plans to give back this thanksgiving is only a first of many.

While the duo is enjoying their new home, their official residence in the UK, Frogmore Cottage, is being used by fellow royal pair Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

Harry and Meghan lent the keys to the three-bedroom house to Princess Eugenie in hopes that their abode will serve the pair as they become new parents in the coming months.

This has, in turn, confirmed that both Meghan and Harry have no plans to return to the UK for the Christmas Holidays despite all the rumors that were circulating.

The couple will still use Frogmore Cottage for official visits, as it is their property and they are still the official residents of it.

Reports of the ongoing rift between the pair and the royal family have only become more and more evident with this news. The palace has not released a statement on the arrangement struck between Harry and his cousin Princess Eugenie.
