Meghan Markle’s lawsuit against the Associated Press in the United Kingdom has been ongoing for almost a year now.

The Duchess of Sussex has been fighting The Mail after it published personal letters, which were for her father Thomas Markle in the days coming up to their wedding, and even after.

Furthermore, the Duchess has also been alleged to be involved in making the unauthorized biography ‘Finding Freedom.’ The book has been used by the Mail against Meghan Markle.

Now, reports from Metro UK have revealed that Meghan Markle’s claims of not being in corroboration with ‘Finding Freedom’ authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand may not be true at all.

Lawyers of the newspapers have filed in the High Court hat Meghan Markle permitted details of her life to be shared with the authors.

According to the documents, Meghan used her friends to tell her story. Lawyers of the Duchess have also confirmed this version, citing that Meghan was left with no choice and wanted her version of the story to be told.

“Accordingly, she indicated to a person whom she knew had already been approached by the authors that the true position could be communicated to the authors to prevent any further misrepresentation,” Lawyers of Meghan argued.

Meghan’s lawyers added that the Duchess was not informed whether what she said in confidence was passed to the authors.

Back in September this year, the Associated Press was allowed by the presiding Judge to use ‘Finding Freedom’ in their defense.

During this time, Meghan’s camp denied that the royal pair had any involvement with the book’s creation and publishing. Scobie and Durand have also revealed that Meghan and Prince Harry did not directly collaborate with them.

These claims come to light after it was exposed to the public that Meghan’s supposed letters to his father were written with the help of several palace aides.

Two members of the Royal Family, her husband, and Jason Knauf, the then Palace Secretary, ‘provided feedback’ with ‘general ideas’ to help Meghan with the letter’s composition.

Meghan Markle has already requested that the 10-day trial with Associated Press be moved later in 2021, which has been approved by the High Court and presiding judge.

Several rumors surrounding the request as the Sussex camp did not reveal the true reason for the date's change.

Currently, Meghan and Prince Harry are weathering the Pandemic in the US.
