Most parents would do everything to stop their children from ever taking drugs, but this actor seems to be the exception to that fact.

It's none other than Kristen Bell's husband, actor Dax Shepard. According to Fox News, the actor, who found fame in Ashton Kutcher's show 'Punk'd', was okay with his children trying drugs in the future. But, please take note, that these are not just any drugs. He seems to be zeroing in on psychedelic drugs.

“I am pro my children doing mushrooms at some point,” Shepard said. “Well, there’s a lot of different studies that have pretty conclusively shown that you have long-lasting creative advantages, right?

Apparently, he believes that people who have taken mushrooms seem to enjoy creativity. He sees nothing wrong with them smoking pot or drinking, but he will draw the line with opiates and cocaine. These statements were given while he was doing the 'Armchair Expert' podcast with actor Rob Lowe. He also talked about how he did his own surgery during quarantine, as reported in the Daily Mail.

The actor has gone public with his problems with substance abuse and revealed that in 2018 he was celebrating his 14 years of sobriety. His wife, 'Veronica Mars' star Kristen Bell, gave a lengthy tribute to her husband for his hard work in remaining sober all these years. She says that she is forever in awe of his dedication and she is proud that he was never ashamed to tell his story so that it can inspire others to do better too.

The couple started dating in 2007 when they met at a birthday party of their friend. They got engaged by 2010, but they did not get married right away. They made a statement that they will only have their wedding until the state of California will finally allow same-sex marriage. When this was done in 2013, the two were able to get married at the Beverly Hills County Clerk's Office by October of the same year.

They are parents to two daughters, Lincoln, who was born in March 2013 and Delta, who was born in December 2014. After 'Punk'd' Dax, went on to have a successful career as an actor, starring in 'Parenthood'. He also hosts the show 'Top Gear America'. He and his wife also founded Hello Bello, a company that produces plant-based baby care products which sell exclusively in Walmart.
