Drew Barrymore recently took her fans on a nostalgia trip when she interviewed herself on her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show. The 45-year-old actress made the netizens emotional when she dressed as the iconic character, Josie Grossie Gellar portrayed in the romantic comedy movie, Never Been Kissed.

Barrymore introduced her own self during the News segment of the show and addressed her character as a future journalist and a high school senior. The actress popped up in a pink prom outfit with a scrunchie of the same color.

The segment brought smiles as the character acted as if she is teleported from the 90s directly into the quarantine zone and she has no clue about the pop culture. For instance, Josie has no clue how many installments of Karate Kid have been made while she still votes for Dukakis.

However, Josie revealed that she has no idea about Harry Styles but if he looks anything like singer Jordan Knight, she is game. Although she learned certain things from 2020, such as pranking on YouTube is common, humiliation fuels social media, and Josie Grossie is popular all over the world.

However, Josie noted that the modern era is similar to her cafeteria in high school but the worst part is that it is going to last forever. Although the talk show host ensured Josie that the new era is not that bad as the internet works in favor of many things.

Drew went on the explain that people can do calculations much faster, find new people, share stories, show support, and much more. Barrymore also took a dig at Josie's dressing and said that she didn't have to wear this outfit for the show.

Josie replied immediately that this is the "fanciest" dress she has while she never got a chance to wear it again. She referred to a scene from the movie in which students throw eggs on her prom nightdress. Both of them on the split screens started to read the news, which disclosed how unfamiliar Josie is with the current events.

When Drew spoke about the ongoing presidential election during the news segment, Josie assumed that Michael Dukakis and George H.W. Bush were the candidates who originally ran for the presidential election back in 1988. The actress laughed off and informed Josie that she had missed a lot.

It was a treat to watch Barrymore bringing her teenage character back as recently she opened up about something painful. The actress reflected on her divorce from Will Kopelman and admitted it was difficult to get over it.
