Before becoming a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany lauded the then-Vice President Joe Biden as funny and likable, describing him as a man of the people, who evokes a feeling of share emotion with middle-class voters. Moreover, she had called the president a wealthy business tycoon.

As White House press secretary, and prior to that a spokesperson for the RNC (Republican National Committee) and Trump campaign, McEnany has been a harsh critic of Biden. Following Trump's footsteps, she has called the former vice president a radical socialist and sleepy, mimicking Trump's attacks on him.

In audio from Aug. 2015 interviews obtained by CNN's KFile, McEnany suggested Republicans would face a massive challenge in a potential race between Trump and Biden. This remark came when Biden was considering running for the White House.

She told local New York's AM970 Republicans were likely to run into a problem if Biden went toe-to-toe against someone like Trump. She went on to explain that Biden tends to come across as a remarkable human, a man of the people who resonates with the middle-class voters.

Referring to Biden's gaffes, she said that although they make fun of them, they make him look human and likable. Responding to a question about who she thought would be an easier candidate for the Republicans to beat in 2016, Biden or Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, McEnany said she thought it would Biden.

She went on to say if Trump goes up against Biden, the contrast would be that Biden is the man of people, while Trump is a tycoon, noting that although Trump comes across as a man of the people despite being a wealthy business tycoon, The Hill reported. McEnany made similar remarks earlier that week during an interview on Fox Business Network, where she speculated that Biden would be the nominee.

She said that funny and likable Biden is someone who could resonate with the middle class and talk to the average, everyday American, while Clinton, on the other hand, was cold and somber. Noting that Biden is human, she predicted that people will be able to relate to that and that he will be the nominee.

However, Biden ended up passing on a 2016 presidential run with Clinton becoming the Democratic presidential nominee. McEnany released a statement to CNN about her 2015 comments saying that she since has found out about what she described as the former vice president's profound personal corruption, adding that he has become an empty vessel for the far left and the liberal elites.
