Akudama and the others finally gather at the black cat’s hideout in Akudama Drive Episode 3. The third episode is titled Mission: Impossible.

The official website of the anime series has released the synopsis for Akudama Drive Episode 3. The synopsis teases that Akudama and the others who successfully managed to escape from the raid by the execution squad finally meet at the hideout.

During the episode, the Shinkansen raid mission will be examined again. 

In the previous Akudama Drive episode, the squad members learn about the mission to take over and rob a Shinkansen. The Hacker announces that the Shinkansen is sacred to people from Kansas and he is ready for the mission. 

Meanwhile, Ippanjin, who is an ordinary person, feels nervous to be dragged into the mission with other criminals.

In the meantime, they are getting orders from a robotic black cat and it is talking as if it is in charge of the mission. The cat reveals that up until now the collar bombs were the first part of the mission. 

When they ask the cat if it can remove the collars, the cat denies as two of the members were never part of the plan. 

Later, in Akudama Drive Episode 2, the cat reveals that the collars are just reassurance for it. In the meantime, the members of the newly formed team are rewarded with money for saving Cutthroat’s life. 

The Black Cat confirms that they are hired for the next mission. Phase two of the mission is extremely difficult and no Akudama has ever completed it. 

Brawler is excited about it and wants to know more. The Hacker asks the Black Cat about the objective of the mission. Black Cat reveals that they need to attack the Shinkansen. 

Hacker notes that it is the sole passage to Kanti, not to mention a sacred entity. But, since it is a revered entity, they cannot attack it as it will hurt the sentiments of the city.

Meanwhile, the Shinkansen is made by humans and it has nothing supernatural. Later, in the installment, Brawler hijacks a bus that will take them to their destination.
