Dai wants to learn the Avan Style Sword Technique and he will have a faceoff against Avan in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 4. The next installment is called The Dark Lord Hadlar’s Return.

The official Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 4 preview trailer is out teasing Dai’s desire to learn a new technique to wield his sword.

“To learn the Avan Style Sword Technique, Dai bravely faces Avan, who changed into a dragon using an ancient spell. Through Avan’s training, Dai rapidly grows stronger. But an evil presence closes in. Next time on Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, The Dark Lord Hadlar’s Return,” reads the preview text from the new installment.

Meanwhile, in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 3, things are getting out of hand on the island and Dai rushes to meet Grampa.

However, when he finds Grampa in a terrible state, he wonders what is happening. Grampa tells him that he feels black blood is coursing through his veins. He fears that if he doesn’t stay focused, he will go berserk.  

Dai wants to know why everyone’s become violent. Grampa tells him that a possible reason could be the return of the Dark Lord. He explains that this urge to showcase violence can only be the Dark Lord’s evil will.

It is believed that the Dark Lord wants to gather them all using his powers and take control over the world again.

Grampa wants Dai to escape the island or they will have no choice but to kill him. However, Dai refuses his offer and announces that he is a hero and he will not desert his closed ones when they are in trouble. Soon, help arrives from an unexpected source.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 4 is scheduled to hit the airwaves on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020. Crunchyroll is streaming the episodes online in Japanese with English subtitles.

The cast members of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai are Atsumi Tanezaki as Dai, Mikako Komatsu as Maam, Ai Furihata as Gome, Saori Hayami as Leona, Takaya Hashi as Vearn, Tomoaki Maeno as Crocodile, Takehito Koyasu as Myst-Vearn, Tomokazu Seki as Hadlar, Yuuki Kaji as Hyunckel and Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Popp.
