Kate Middleton, reportedly, paid tribute to Princess Diana during her recent public engagement.

The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed wearing Princess Diana’s blue sapphire accessory while having a conversation with guests and Prince William.

However, Middleton remodeled the blue sapphire necklace that was previously worn by the Princess of Wales to make it look much smaller.

Prince William also gave Princess Diana's ring to his wife when they got engaged in 2010. But it was only recently that Middleton started wearing Princess Diana’s blue sapphire necklace with a pair of matching earrings.

According to Woman’s Day, Princess Diana first wore the necklace during her trip to Australia in 1983. But the original version of the necklace included a large Burmese sapphire and diamond pendant that was suspended on a thin diamond necklace.

A source told the magazine that Middleton loves honoring Princess Diana whenever she can through her love for sapphires. And Prince William loves seeing the jewelry on his wife because it looks stunning on her and it also reminds him of his late mother.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton also made headlines this week after they made a public appearance on the streets of the United Kingdom. Some of the photos from the Hold Still photography contest were posted in several locations across the UK.

For the outing, Middleton wore an all-red coat and white inner blouse. She also carried a black bag in her hat. Prince William, on the other hand, wore his usual suit and tie outfit.

Hours after the outing, Middleton and Prince William were photographed meeting Kate Garraway for the Pride of Britain Awards in London.

For the occasion, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wore matching outfits. Middleton and Prince William wore slacks in the same blue hue.

Prince William and Middleton have been very busy even during the recent coronavirus lockdown. The royal couple continued to hold virtual interviews, and they also attended a slew of meetings.

However, the Duke of Cambridge was recently criticized for attending an engagement with Queen Elizabeth without wearing their masks.

Some royal fans expressed their concerns for the monarch. While others accused the future king and the queen of not following the strict guidelines that are non-royals are expected to follow.
