The rumors about Shawn Mendes’ possible collaboration with music icon Justin Bieber have been making headlines for quite some time – and it is now that Mendes decided to put an end to it.

Mendes’ latest song “Wonder” has become his fans’ favorite and they can’t get it to stop from buzzing in their heads. Amid rising popularity and growing fan base, the speculations about him working with Bieber secretly are getting stronger.

During his interaction with David Kemp on “Capital Breakfast,” Mendes was asked to address the rumors. Kemp straightly asked if the Mendes had turned down an offer to collab with the “Sorry” singer. The artist was in no mood to be diplomatic or keep the truth under covers.

To Kemp’s question, Mendes said, "Is this you trying to get me to confirm that I have a collaboration with Justin Bieber? I didn't last month. I cannot confirm or deny," he continued. "In the last six months, we’ve definitely become a lot closer. It’s really cool to have him as a mentor in a lot of ways, just to kind of talk through stuff with, because there's not many people who do this type of stuff."

Mendes also added that turning down an offer that involves JB is definitely out of question telling that the "All Around The World" singer has been his favorite since he was only 9 years old. As per Mendes, had he declining an offer of that sort would be totally “insane.”

The singer suggests that over the past 6 months, he has got a lot closer to Justin Bieber. To Mendes, JB is his mentor who he follows every time he looking for inspiration or is facing some challenging situation.

Mendes has missed his girlfriend Camila Cabello’s presence during his quarantine days. It’s not that the two were not living together, as a matter of fact, Mendes has been living in Cabello’s house located in California – but he couldn’t see enough of her because of Camila’s "Cindrella" shoot.

Recently, Justin Bieber sent the social media into a frenzy - posting a picture of a pair of floating Crocs with people speculating that he may be indicating the pregnancy of his wife Hailey Bieber.

Both the stars have got a lot going on in their lives, a collaboration for music is all that fans may be wishing for. Fortunately, hidden somewhere in Mendes' words is an indication for an upcoming project.
