Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly struggling to make end meets.

After announcing their bombshell exit in January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to be financially independent of the royal family.

According to In Touch Weekly, the huge decision resulted in the royal couple being in massive debt.

In February, the tabloid published a story with the headline “Meghan & Harry Desperate For Cash!” A source told the tabloid that the royal couple has been hemmoraghing money since they left the United Kingdom.

As members of the royal family and as working royals, Prince Harry and Markle didn’t have to pay for their security team. But as non-royals, they are now responsible for shouldering the cost of their security personnel.

Prince Harry and Markle also rented out a $14 million mansion in Canada after their Megxit. And the tabloid claimed that the cost of the property is not a joke for a couple who isn’t earning anything.

Last month, National Enquirer claimed that Markle is stressing over their family’s debts that’s why she’s forcing Prince Harry to get a job. The tabloid also alleged that the royal couple is in an $8 million debt two months after leaving the royal family.

“Meghan’s terrified her champagne dreams of being a Hollywood queen will be shattered by this financial nightmare and is insisting Harry get off his duff and solve the crisis,” the source said.

However, the claims made by both tabloids are to be taken with a grain of salt. Gossip Cop, a rumor-debunking site confirmed that they are incorrect.

Prince Harry and Markle are not struggling with their finances even though they have decided to quit their royal duties. At present, they are still receiving financial support from Prince Charles.

Following their decision to leave the royal family, Queen Elizabeth released a statement saying that Prince Harry and Markle will continue to work behind the scenes for the next 12 months.

This means that the royal couple will continue to have a steady source of income. And since they are no longer bound by the strict royal rules, they are now able to earn money in whatever way they want.

Last month, Disney Plus announced that Markle narrated the new documentary on elephants. The “Suits” alum donated her salary from the gig to those in need.

The gesture also proves that Markle and Prince Harry are not struggling with their finances. Otherwise, the Duchess of Sussex would’ve kept her salary for her family.
