Actor William Jackson Harper opened up about his disturbing experience regarding the biopic, Malcolm X. The 40-year-old actor took Twitter to condemn President Donald Trump's recent order that encourages censorship.

The actor criticized the new executive decision following the military academies removed from an event, which was supposed to discuss the upcoming biopic of Malcolm X. The actor started sharing his opinion as he began the tweet with "Long Thread" caution and explained how the experience has been in the last week.

Harper said that he agreed to join the event virtually for one of the charity event called Arts In The Armed Forces (AITAF). "The event was an all-academy virtual screening of a movie I selected, that cadets would watch on their own, which culminated in a Talkback/ Q&A session via zoom," the actor continued to explain.

Harper revealed that he gave a list of several options that included American Honey, Citizen Kane, and a biopic starring Denzel Washington. Malcolm X is co-written and directed by Spike Lee. The biopic highlighted the life of civil rights activists who spoke for Black people and against the American government that showed inequity towards the Black community.

Moreover, Washington's performance in the movie was critically acclaimed and earned a nomination in Oscar. The actor explained that it is one of the greatest biography made into a movie. He praised Washington’s work in the film and complimented his fire, restraint, commitment, intellectual rigor, physical hard work that no one has ever witnessed before.

The actor admitted being happy to converse about the iconic movie theme and the significance in history while he hoped that the discussion would allow viewers to have a look at the past of the Black community.

However, the actor explained that a couple of days before the event was supposed to take place he was informed that the students from two academies. The reason was given that they fear going against the new order by President Trump.

He also quoted the official statement of the White House regarding the order issued on Sept. 22. The actor called out the new order as a way to censorship and attempting to hide the facts that still haunt the Black community.

He further said that such an executive order is helping to do nothing but denying the experiences of minorities in the United States. The actor slammed back to the people who called the movie propaganda.
